Sergei Larenkov has created a large number of these erie photos in a exhibition of here and now. The photos are set in his home town of Saint Petersburg or Leningrad as it was know during the second world war. At that time the Nazis had laid siege to the city starving it of supplies and leaving the population to suffer hunger and the cold. He has visited the exact sites of the original photographs to take pictures of the same place at the same angle and then superimposed the two together. I really like these pictures they create such a strong vision of the past matched with the present and really hit home how hard those times must of been.
